Welcome to Cigar Humidor.org
Cigar Humidor.org is dedicated to bringing you the best in premium humidors and humidor accessories. What exactly is a humidor? A humidor is a type of box or room with controlled humidity, used to store cigars.
There are various types of humidors out there, and we have listed them below, to help you find the best match for you.
The first type of humidor is a Table Humidor. Typically on the heavier side, it is portable, but usually kept in one place. A table humidor typically hold from 300 to 1000 cigars and comes in wood, leather or marble with a glass top.
The second type of cigar humidor is a Room Humidor. Common in cigar shops and cigar bars, it is large enough to walk inside to view the variety of cigars in stock.
Next is the Travel Humidor, which is ideal for carrying cigars on the go and holds approximately 10-40 cigars.
A Personal Humidor is best for the casual smoker who typically is not going to keep hundreds of cigars stored at their home or office. A personal humidor typically holds about 75 cigars and is great for special events and impressing friends.
All Humidors use hygrometers. A Hygrometer is a device used for measuring relative humidity in a humidor. Why use a humidor? A premium cigar, is handmade and typically constructed with long-filler tobacco. It has 100% pure tobacco leaves throughout its construction. Unlike machine made cigars or cigarettes, they have no chemicals that are added that will keep them from drying out. So, they must be stored at the correct humidity level to preserve its moisture content, or they will dry out and crumble.
Now that you know the types of humidors and why you need to store your cigars in one, check out the wide variety we have available.
What happens to a cigar that was left out of the humidor? That depends on what protection the cigar had along with the environment that the cigar is exposed to. If the cigar came with a plastic sleeve surrounding it, it will protect the cigar from drying out for a short period of time. For example, on the ride home from a cigar store. A cigar with a sleeve that has been out of the humidor for a few hours, or a day, will be not be severely affected by the humidity change. However, without its sleeve, the cigar, under low humidity conditions, can be ruined in as little as 45 minutes. These guidelines are only approximations, and it is recommended that you protect a cigar by keeping it in a plastic bag until you can get it to the humidor.
